Single Ply Roofing
When it comes to a low slope membrane roof system; performance, lifespan and return on investment are considerations every owner wants to meet with their roofing system decision. In the United States, single ply roof applications make up approximately 75% of low slope roofs in new construction and reroof markets. Most popular are PVC, TPO and EPDM membranes. Benefits for this type of application is the product’s durability, ease of installation, energy efficiency, resistance to UV rays and chemicals. When properly installed and maintained, a commercial single ply roof could last up to and beyond 30 years. However, not all single ply membranes are the same, the quality and chemical composition can vary drastically. We are well versed in single ply systems that are proven performers in our unique PNW climate. Sound Roof Services is experienced in the installation of all types of single ply systems and will work with you to select the best single ply roof for your building.
Modified Bitumen Membrane Roofing
Modified bitumen is an evolution of the built-up roofing systems (BUR) that have been used on low-slope roofs for more than 100 years. It is made of asphalt combined with polymerized rubber or plastic, then reinforced with fiberglass or polyester mats to create a rugged-yet-flexible multi-ply (2 or 3-ply) waterproof membrane system. Modified bitumen is a proven performer in the PNW climate and is continually specified on our government’s essential infrastructure due to its exceptional waterproof performance and toughness.
Metal Roofing
Installing a metal roof is one of the best investments you can make to boost your home or commercial buildings value. Delivering beauty, longevity, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability—metal roofing offers benefits for any size project in the PNW region. While the initial cost of a quality metal roof is higher than roofing materials such as asphalt, it’s an investment that pays returns over a lifetime. A metal roof can last up to 50+ years or more with little maintenance, can often be repaired versus replaced, and may even increase the resale value of your home.
coatings
Fluid applied roof restoration systems are a cost-effective alternative to restore a roof investment that is still in good condition and extend its life cycle capabilities with a new 10, 15 or 20-year warranties and even NDL warranties for roofs that qualify. Roof coating options we provide are silicone, polyurethane and aluminum for various roof substrates. After a rigorous preparation process and the existing roof substrate is dry and stable, the coating is applied in multiple layers that is rolled or sprayed on to the existing roof. If there are some wet or damaged areas, then these can be removed and new dry material installed before the coating is applied. Roof coatings come in a wide variety of colors, and white coatings are considered “cool roofs” because they meet certain tax deduction criteria and reflect UV rays. A benefit of choosing a coating system, is that it can reduce the project duration keeping the costs lower and lessening any inconvenience to the facility’s operations. Additionally, restorative roof assemblies are classified as “maintenance” and may qualify for the total cost to be expensed within a 12-month period from installation. Sound Roof Services only installs Silicone, Polyurethane and Aluminum coatings due to the harsh PNW climate. Other products have proven to be ineffective due to a number of factors and at SRS we are committed to doing the job right the first time.
composition shingles
There are three major categories of asphalt roofing shingle products available today – strip shingles, dimensional shingles, and luxury shingles. It is important to understand the differences between each type of roofing shingle in order to pick the right product for your home or business.
Asphalt shingles are also known as and composition shingles (or composite shingles). These are general terms for the same thing. The term “composition” is used because the shingles are a composite product made from either a fiberglass or cellulose mat, asphalt, and mineral granules. This differs from wood shake shingles or clay tiles which are made from a single material. Sound Roof Services will work with you to pick the right material application for your home or business.

The Sound Roof Services Team is dedicated to completing our roofing scope of work on time, on budget and with the utmost quality and attention to detail.
Roof Replacement & Recover
Typical low slope roof life cycle function is designed based on 20-30 year roof system assemblies. However, roofs deteriorate over time and without proper maintenance, and may result in premature failure resulting in water leaks and other potentially serious issues. Through annual maintenance, building owners can decide when to repair damaged and troubled areas, recover the roof or prepare for a total roof replacement. Sound Roof Services provides both extensive and spot repairs to an existing roof to maintain its weather resistant integrity. When a roof replacement is deemed necessary, Sound Roof Services can remove the existing roof layers and replace with the same system or construct a new roof to different specifications and current building codes.
